Please message me with these dimensions following placement of your order.Īny able flute technician or engineer can make this measurement for you using a vernier caliper. Whilst most flutes are very similar, each has a specific taper and given this measurement I can set it up for you before shipping. They fit all western concert flute headjoints (orchestral/band/student flutes in C), but so I can ensure a perfect fit I prefer if you take measurements of the inside diameter of your flute headjoint tube, at the crown end. If in doubt, send me a picture of the end of your flute headjoint tube with your current crown removed. You need at least 8mm space between the top of your cork/stopper and the end of the tube for the new crown to push into. Plated items should not be aggressively polished.Īfter removing (usually unscrewing) the old crown, these crowns push fit into the end of your headjoint tube. These crowns are solid and strong but should be treated much like jewellery. They make great gifts for flute players for birthdays or Christmas. If you want a crown in another material, plating, finish or to fit a wooden headjoint, please get in touch first.
18k Yellow gold plated brass- the traditional yellow gold look - a bright yellow. Beautiful to look at and my favourite to play overall. Polished Bronze - provides a look not unlike rose gold. Matt Black Steel - an unusual 'aged' look, almost looks as if it is made from coal!. This is the most popular option, but personally, I prefer the look and feel of the rhodium plated brass. Highly polished silver finish - compliments all headjoint tube materials well. Sterling Silver- furthest right in the primary picture. Compliments any headjoint material really well. Rhodium plating on the polished brass has a particularly deep and shiny finish - similar to silver but even shinier. Rhodium-plated brass- third from left in the main picture. Rose gold is a particularly beautiful colour and compliments silver, platinum (or other silvery coloured metals) or rose gold headjoints particularly well. This highly polished brass item has been 14k rose gold plated. 18k rose/red gold-plated brass - second left in the main picture.
Some people describe it as 'vintage' look. This is a hard-wearing yellow gold plated finish, with a party-polished textured appearance.
Gold-plated steel - leftmost in the primary picture. This current listing has various materials and finishes: The unique design allows this crown to fit on many flutes, so you can use it on multiple instruments or swap it to a new flute when you upgrade. These bespoke crafted crowns allow you to personalise your flute, or adjust its playing characteristics.
